Delivery runs are scheduled as requests come in, with most activity on evenings and weekends. Volunteers can take individual routes rather than committing to a fixed weekly schedule.
Signs and literature only help if they actually reach the right place. This team handles deliveries, tracks requests, and helps keep materials moving without pulling canvassers or the candidate away from voter contact.
A plain description of what a canvassing shift actually asks of you, so you can decide for yourself whether it fits.
Some routes involve repeated getting in and out of a vehicle, carrying bundles of material, walking across properties, bending, and installing signs. Lighter delivery or tracking tasks are available for volunteers who should avoid lifting.
You’ll get a short briefing on the delivery tracker, sign-placement rules, pickup and return procedures, and what to do when a requested placement is unclear or unsafe.
Do not place signs in traffic lanes, on sidewalks, or where they obstruct sightlines. Follow the City of Peterborough’s current campaign-sign rules and campaign instructions. Do not stop in unsafe traffic locations or enter private property beyond what is required for an authorized delivery.
Delivery routes can be matched to your mobility and lifting limits. Volunteers who cannot install signs can still help with route planning, request tracking, literature sorting, or paired deliveries.
Expressing interest doesn’t commit you to a shift. Send us your information and someone from the campaign will follow up.
Share your availability and any questions. This does not commit you to a shift.
Expressing interest is not a commitment. Someone from the campaign will follow up before anything is scheduled. Volunteer applications are never published, your details are used only to organize volunteering, accommodation notes are seen only by the organizer, and you can ask to be removed at any time.
